Following the release of Firefox 28 just two days ago, Mozilla today updated its Firefox Beta channel to version 29 for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android. This is a massive release: Firefox Sync has been revamped and is now powered by Firefox Accounts, there's a new customization mode, and the major user interface overhaul Australis has finally arrived.

Firefox 29 beta also introduces a new customization mode that lets you drag and drop items such as browser history, sync, or download, or add-on icons to your toolbar. The Firefox Sync feature which lets you keep your browser data synchronized between computers and mobile devices has also been updated to use the new Firefox Accounts feature. But it’s the new user interface which is by far the most notable new feature in Firefox 29 beta. Soon it’ll be the default UI for all versions of the browser.

The customization mode makes it easy for you to personalize every part of your browsing experience. In addition, the new menu panel includes all of your browser controls, favorite features and add-ons in one space. You can find familiar tools like copy/paste, print, full page, save and more. When you download a new Firefox Add-on, you will be able to add its  icon in the same new menu panel, giving add-ons a permanent place in your browser.

Mozilla has been working on a design overhaul for its Firefox web browser for a while, and now you can take the new user interface for a spin by installing Firefox 29 beta.
